The project

With GE’s most recent and significant acquisition of Alstom, the initial project brief that required the team to deliver 5 floors of office fit out expanded to a total of 7 floors.

With the new space requirements, ISG’s role was elevated to include designing and delivering all audio visual solutions, procurement of white goods, and move management services.

Having to work within the parameters of the maximum density requirements in Malaysia, each floor was designed to accommodate a maximum of 125 fixed workstations.

ISG provided an agile solution through the design of the office, with 5 to 6 different workspace set ups that were filled with non-assigned desks comprising benches, 120-degree workstations, sit-stand workstations and a vast amount of informal spaces, encouraging a collaborative work environment.

Employee wellbeing was not compromised either, with ergonomic Haworth Zody task chairs being utilised in the fit out.

Visitors are also provided with further insights of the GE business through the use of an interactive display stand, as well as an integrated touch-screen wall measuring 138” in diameter, provided by a total of 9 46” LCD TVs.
