ISG in Malaysia has successfully completed a 13,500 sq ft fast-track fit out for the market leader in flexible workspace, The Instant Group, at Datacom's Malaysian office.
Datacom is one of Asia Pacific's leading IT-based service providers, with over 5,000 employees across ASEAN, Australasia, Europe, and the Americas.
Located within the award-winning 1 Sentral in Kuala Lumpur, the agile scheme saw us delivering a collaborative and community-focused work environment that includes 150 workstations, server room incorporating six racks and FM200, a 16-pax boardroom, meeting and discussion rooms, 11 focus pods, as well as five recreational spaces comprising break-out, pantry, and rest and recuperation (R&R) areas.
A key focus in terms of the office design was the incorporation of the Malaysian culture, heritage and values. This was done through the use of vibrant colours in the office, along with naming each meeting room after the different trees found in Malaysia.
A noteworthy design element in the reception is a structural ceiling-to-column centrepiece resembling a tree, with branches that span across the surrounding spaces. This feature, along with meeting rooms named after various trees, is an artistic reference to the forested landscapes in Malaysia and will provide a sense of ownership to the Datacom workforce.
The fit out was completed in July 2018 with zero defects recorded.
"I find that ISG is caring as a contractor, placing emphasis on the needs of the end user."Andrew Goodwin, Chief Operating Officer, Datacom Malaysia
